Lexington Community Deep End Assessment and Unattended Minor Assessment
To be administered at the discretion of the lifeguard and for young children up to and including their teenage years.
- One Complete uninterrupted lap / 50 yards (no stopping, no standing – beginning at the deep-end wall touching the shallow- end wall and returning to the deep- end wall)
- Pick up item from pool floor in the deep end and return it to the surface
- Tread water for 1 minute
- Swim Underwater from deep-end wall towards the mid-point ofthe pool
Demonstrating these critical skills does not guarantee safety but certainly helps assess deep water confidence for both the swimmer and guard on duty!
